Friendswood, TX - September 14, 2009 - The City of Friendswood Community Services Department is hosting the NFL Punt, Pass and Kick Competition on Thursday, September 24, 2009.  The event will be held at Centennial Park (phase II), 2200 S. Friendswood Dr., from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Boys and girls ages 8 to 15 years (age as of December 31, 2009) will be eligible for competition.  Participants will compete for distance and accuracy in punting, passing and kicking.  Ribbons will be given to the top three finalists in each age group according to sex and certificates will be handed out to every participant.  Winners from this event will advance to the Gulf Coast Sectional Competition to be held in October.  There is no charge for the competition and registration will take place at Centennial Park on the day of the event.  A copy of the participant's birth certificate or religious document (baptismal record) will be required for proof of age and eligibility.  Participants must wear tennis shoes to participate.

All are encouraged to come out early to practice, listen to good music, drink Gatorade, and join in the fun. T-shirts will be given to the first 20 participants.  For additional information, call the City of Friendswood Community Services Department at (281) 996-3220.
